The Cognitive
Reset Puzzle

Backed by cognitive science. This high-engagement puzzle actively occupies your brain's visual center, helping to disrupt intrusive thoughts and stop distressing memories from settling immediately after a tragic event.

The 20-Minute Protocol

Timing is critical. Whether used within the vital 6-hour window following a traumatic event to protect your headspace, or later when intrusive thoughts resurface, this 20-minute countdown ensures your brain gets the full, uninterrupted window needed to effectively disrupt distress patterns.

The Central Resource Hub

Your resources shouldn’t be scattered when you already feel scattered. Whether you are navigating primary trauma or the heavy toll of secondary trauma, we gather trusted, verified support networks and crisis tools into one single, calm place, so you never have to search for help when you need it most.

Public Education
& Outreach

Our goal is to make proactive cognitive resilience a household tool. We are building a movement to spread public awareness so that everyday individuals, families, and first responders know exactly how to protect their headspace. Learn how you can help us share this vital resource and bring it to the communities that need it most.

Trauma, grief, and crisis are heavy enough to carry without the added layer of managing intrusive thoughts, anxiety, and the exhausting juggle of finding care. Your path to protecting your headspace should be seamless.

Bright & Brave was founded to remove those barriers. We provide an immediate, free, and radically simple cognitive toolkit designed to help quiet the mental noise and give you a dependable space to begin your journey of self-care.

The Golden 6 Hours

Our primary focus is spreading awareness about the critical window immediately following an overwhelming event. By introducing simple, highly engaging visual puzzles right away, our toolkit helps to disrupt the brain's pattern-building process, keeping distressing and intrusive thoughts from taking root."

Built for Frontlines & Families

Whether you are a first responder navigating the daily weight of secondary trauma on your way home from a shift, or an individual processing a sudden crisis in your personal life, this toolkit is built for you. We provide a dependable space to reset without logins, fees, or tracking.

Our Grounding Belief

Bright & Brave began with a personal turning point - when our founder, Jessica "Jess" Golden, realized during a crisis that a simple puzzle at a kitchen table could completely quiet a spiraling mind. That moment sparked a mission to see if cognitive science could turn a simple mental task into a lifeline. Today, under Jess's leadership as Founder/CEO, we are a community-driven 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to making that same proactive resilience free, seamless, and universally accessible to everyone.

The Foundational
Science

Grounded in pioneering research from Oxford University and supported by ongoing studies within leading trauma networks, including local frontline research right here in Atlanta at Grady, clinical evidence shows that early visuospatial tasks act as a vital buffer, disrupting the formation of intrusive memories before they take root.

In the first 6 hours following an overwhelming event, visual memories are highly unstable and still setting in the brain. Introducing an immersive logic puzzle during this vulnerable window acts as a cognitive circuit-breaker, preventing distressing images from locking into long-term storage.

Your brain has a limited amount of working memory available for visual data. By completely occupying the brain's visuospatial center for a dedicated 20-minute block, you actively block the mental bandwidth required to process or store vivid, intrusive loops.
